Pure Gold
In this 84000-hosted event, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche led the sangha in a Resounding on The Gold Sūtra followed by a teaching and short question-answer session on the sūtra. The event took place on May 22 at 5:00 PM (IST) in celebration of Saga Dawa Düchen at Deer Park in Bir, India.
Immeasurable Longevity and Wisdom
His Holinessthe 42nd Sakya Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche spoke of the significance of Chötrul Düchen in commemorating the fifteen days during which the Buddha performed a different beneficial miracle each day in Śrāvastī. The merit of our positive actions during these fifteen days is enormously enhanced, and one of the most positive things we can do, he said, is to study the Buddha’s words, the sūtras. He then introduced The Aparimitāyurjñāna Sūtra which the Buddha taught as a practice anyone can do to loosen the hold of conditions that might shorten life. Honoring the Buddha Aparimitāyurjñāna through reciting this text brings many benefits and is accessible to all. After explaining the initial passages of the text that set out its purpose, His Holiness kindly gave the transmission by reading the whole text in Tibetan.
Cultivating a Bodhisattva Mind
On the auspicious day of Lhabab Düchen, we were honored to have Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche speak on cultivating the mind of a bodhisattva.
The Sūtra of the Wheel of Dharma
On this special occasion of Chökor Düchen (Aug 1, 2023), we are honored to have Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche teaching this brief, but classic presentation of the four truths which has remained central to the Buddhist tradition since its very early days—The Sūtra of the Wheel of Dharma. Rinpoche also shared heartfelt advice, offering deep wisdom and insights to enrich our understanding and practice, inspiring and supporting us in our spiritual journey.
Supplicating the Source
On the auspicious day of Chökor Düchen, we were honored to have Chagdud Khadro speak on the importance to all of us of there having been a Buddha’s teaching in this world, and in this eon; and the huge importance of continuing to request the teachings.
Aspiration
On the auspicious day of Chötrul Düchen, we were honored to have Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche speak on aspiration in relation to the sūtras!
The Perfection of Wisdom
On the auspicious day of Saga Dawa Düchen—commemorating the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and Parinirvāṇa—we announced that 25 percent of the 70,000 page Tibetan Kangyur has now been published in English, and made freely available to the world. This significant milestone in 84000’s one-hundred-year project has been reached along with the publication of a translation of one of the longest sūtras in the Tibetan Buddhist canon, The Perfection of Wisdom in Eighteen Thousand Lines.
The Good Eon - Part 1
This sutra was initiated by Shakyamuni Buddha, at the end of a retreat in Vaishali. Present were monks, bodhisattvas, ghosts, nagas and rakshas: an audience of many different types of beings. Among them was a bodhisattva called Supreme Joy, who posed 17 questions concerning how a bodhisattva can help all sentient beings. These questions lead us outside the limits of conventional thinking, to consider what it means to have genuine compassion for the multiplicity of sentient beings. This eon is good because more than 1,000 Buddhas and more than 84,000 ways of accessing the truth will appear.

The Stem Array (Gandavyuha) - Part 1
Our hero in this sutra is Sudhana, a wealthy merchant who goes on pilgrimage in search of the truth. In his journey he encounters more than 50 incredible gurus, all with different manifestations, including a child and a prostitute. In his quest, Sudhana learns that to apply the bodhisattva path, he has to let go of a narrow, limited view of conventional reality and be open-minded to the infinite or Mahayana view. The sutra is not just a buddhist fairy tale but a deconstruction of our limited viewpoint of the world around us and what we think as reality. The final guru is the bodhisattva Samantabhadra and the sutra ends with his Prayer of Aspiration.
