Michael Engle

Mike has been deepening his practice and understanding of Buddhism since he was first introduced to it at the age of 16. While at school his interest in the mind motivated him to study psychology as well as philosophy and afterwards led him to spend a year in Nepal researching attention training in the Tibetan monastic education. Mike then spent the next four-and-a-half years studying Buddhist philosophy and practice in southern France. \r\n\r\nMike began to work for 84000 on several small editorial projects and joined formally in 2016. He now manages the publication and markup stages where the editorial technology and communications team all interface. He has transformed 84000’s initial painstakingly slow manual method of markup into a rapid and efficient process now mostly automated and coordinates a small team of markup editors who make sure that all the fine detail is in place. He has also planned and realized various tools to allow copyeditors editors and translators to communicate with each other and keep accessible their ever growing know how. He currently lives in Barcelona with his wife and three sons.
