Thomas has studied Buddhist views and practices at the Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Kathmandu since the late 1980s.

Thomas has studied Buddhist views and practices at the Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Kathmandu since the late 1980s. Graduating in Tibetan and Sanskrit at the University of Copenhagen he received a doctorate in Buddhist Studies from the University of Lausanne Switzerland. As a member of the Dharmachakra Translation Committee Thomas has contributed to the 84000 project since its inception translating sūtras and tantras. He has also translated philosophical treatises as well as Tibetan commentarial works on Indian Buddhist classics. His research publications include a monograph on Madhyamaka in Tibet. \r\n\r\nThomas is an Associate Professor at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu working in Buddhist philosophy and cross-disciplinary research.' no')
