From August 9-13, 2024, 84000 convened a special workshop, “Translating the Hevajra Tantra,” at Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Austria to study this profound scripture and related commentaries. The workshop was led by the esteemed Professor Harunaga Isaacson of Hamburg University, who generously shared his expertise on the Hevajra Tantra.

84000’s dedicated translators and editors were joined by scholars from the University of Vienna, Eötvös Loránd University, Università Degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale,” and Rangjung Yeshe Institute. Participants studied the translations of the Hevajra Tantra and its two commentaries from the Tengyur, which are being produced by 84000. The Hevajra Tantra, considered to be one of the most influential scriptures in the Indo-Tibetan Vajrayana tradition, outlines a swift path to awakening and provides a comprehensive presentation of Vajrayana thought and practice.

“We are deeply grateful to Professor Isaacson for generously sharing his expertise with us. Over the coming months, our editors will complete the translations of these profound texts, with the publication scheduled for early 2026,” said Dr. Andreas Doctor, 84000 editorial director.
