世尊應一婆羅門邀請前往其家中受午餐供養，途中見到一座古老的朽塔，狀若土堆。世尊告金剛手菩薩言，此塔之中藏有蘊含一切如來加持心之陀羅尼密印法要。世尊復言，此塔實為殊妙大寶塔，由於眾生缺乏福德之故，顯現為古朽土堆。世尊繼而稱嘆書寫、讀誦、供奉此經典之功德，並列舉出將此經放置於塔中或佛像中的種種利益。當世尊誦此陀羅尼時，破敗古塔當即重現出往日的光輝。
