Anavatapta­nāgarāja­paripṛcchā

《阿那婆達多龍王所問經》講述六度、正念和禪定等菩薩道的核心法教，並側重講解菩薩道究竟本質——超越語言的空性。佛陀在王舍城附近的靈鷲山說法時，有位名為阿那婆達多的龍王來到佛所，就上述主題提問，佛陀則給予開示。隨後，龍王邀請佛陀前往阿那婆達多的住處。龍王的住處是一個帶有傳奇色彩的湖泊，為南瞻部洲四大河流的源頭。佛陀於是與無數隨侍飛往此地，並繼續宣說法教。文殊師利等數以千計的菩薩參加了集會，他們在會上就聲聞道與菩薩道的功德展開了辯論。經文的最後，佛陀授記龍王將於未來獲得證悟，龍王與其眷屬也都皈依了三寶。
