Wiesiek Mical has translated Buddhist texts for 84000 as a member of the Dharmachakra Translation Committee since 2010, and in 2020 he formally joined the team as an Associate Translator. Having begun learning Sanskrit in 1975, he continued his study at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. From 2004 to 2010 he taught Sanskrit at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute, Kathmandu University, in Nepal. His engagement with the Dharma began in 1979 and continues today.

When Wiesiek Mical first began studying Sanskrit in 1975, he sensed he would one day use it for something significant, though he did not yet know what. After taking Buddhist refuge in 1979, that purpose gradually grew clearer, and his early intuition was borne out when he became involved with the Dharmachakra Translation Committee and, later, with 84000.
