Linda Griffin worked as a copyeditor for several years before an opportunity to join 84000 arose. With a background in Chinese and Buddhist studies, she has spent most of her adult life in Asia, variously working as a journalist, translator, NGO program director, Dharma center manager, librarian, and digital nomad. Since 2007 she has been based mostly in Bir, India, with occasional stints in Nepal and Bhutan. As a core team member at Deer Park Institute in Bir, she took part in the on-site logistics for the 2009 Translating the Words of the Buddha conference, the gathering that became the catalyst for 84000, and sixteen years later she has joined the translation team to put her editing skills to work. Linda Griffin is a self-described language enthusiast who enjoys reading Dharma texts in Sanskrit, Tibetan, and Chinese, with the English translations alongside.
