Dr. Laura Goetz holds a PhD in South Asian, Tibetan, and Buddhist Studies from the University of Vienna. A native of upstate New York, she received her BA in English and creative writing from Cornell University. In 2011, she enrolled at Naropa University in Colorado, where she began studying Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, along with Tibetan and Sanskrit.Since receiving her master’s degree in 2014, Dr. Goetz has taken on a range of editorial, organizational, and research projects. She has worked with the Tsadra Foundation and Shambhala Publications, and as a freelance editor of works in Buddhist studies. She also spent time studying in Eastern Tibet and North India. She joined 84000 in 2017 as a digital editor and later worked as a copyeditor.
