Laura Goetz edits translations for 84000 and maintains the project's guidelines for translators and editors. She studied Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan, and Sanskrit at Naropa University, has worked with the Tsadra Foundation and Shambhala Publications, and is completing her PhD at the University of Vienna.

Laura Goetz began studying Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, along with Tibetan and Sanskrit, in 2011, when she enrolled at Naropa University in Colorado. Since receiving her master's degree in 2014, she has taken on a range of editorial, organizational, and research projects, working with the Tsadra Foundation and Shambhala Publications and as a freelance editor of works in Buddhist studies. She subsequently spent time studying in Eastern Tibet and North India. Laura Goetz joined 84000 in 2017 as a digital editor and later worked as a copyeditor. She is currently completing her PhD at the University of Vienna. Goetz is from upstate New York and received her BA in English and creative writing from Cornell University.
