24-Hour Virtual Sūtra Recitation

Together with Siddhartha’s Intent, we invite you to join us on June 18 – 19 for a continuous 24-hour online, global recitation of “The Dedication: Fulfilling All Aspirations” to celebrate the end of our #10DaysOfWisdom, the birthday of our Founding Chair, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, and, of course, this wonderful month of Saga Dawa!

 

 

 

 

 

The chanting will begin every hour, on the hour (India Standard Time – IST) with a short introduction from a rotating host and a video; and each session will close with a recitation of 84000’s own new aspiration prayer, “May There Never Be a Time…” 

Each session will last approximately 25 minutes, and we encourage you to participate ANYTIME within the 24-HOUR PERIOD.

“The Dedication: Fulfilling All Aspirations” is a recently published text that we feel encapsulates everything we need for this tumultuous 2020: honest confession, rejoicing for even that “single moment of faith,” requesting those with understanding and skill to teach the Dharma, and the dedication of merit to “give relief to those who are unrelieved” so that “unsurpassed wisdom” may come to be for all sentient beings!

“May There Never Be a Time…” An Aspiration Prayer for 84000 is newly composed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, and will be inaugurated at the first session of this 24hr recitation event.
